UCE lads Gandhigiri on test

Gandhigiri has been put to test. With Naveen Patnaik is testing the patience of the students, the lads are in no mood to give in. So the Chief Minister has blissfully closed the eyes. Political leaders are busy with their party politics in general and Urban and Local Bodies elections in particular. And the strike for a Unitary University goes on. Students of the University College of Engineering (UCE) Burla are on Hunger Strike for last 25 days. They are on hunger mode not for the removal of year back system or to ask for any favor of personal nature. For the first time entire student fraternity of UCE Burla have joined hands to upgrade one of the oldest engineering institutions of the state to a Unitary University.

Students did not want to worsen the Law and Order challenge to the State Government and henceforth decided to continue our Relay Hunger Strike peacefully inside the campus. Unfortunately thick skinned leaders do not seem to take notice unless the agitation is violent. It is a matter of great disappointment that even after 24days of Relay Hunger Strike neither the Collector nor the SP or RDC and DIG have come to the students, allege the students.

With patience running down, If the genuine demands are not heard, they will be forced to block the National Highway and Railway Track, threaten the agitating students. As the students adopted Gandhigiri to fulfill their demand it should not be termed as the weakness, warned they.
