  1. It feels great to recollect the days at UCE. I still cherish the walk to Burla market and the spicy Pakhala with fried fish near PC bridge.

  2. Poeple always think, an environment changes their life, but its wrong, people can make an environment to live in their own way……….
People come to UCE, they will learn and earn but still not happy……..
Because they did their graduation from a state level college……..
First thing is they dont know their potential….
They dont know what they got from UCE……….
Compare yourself with others who are from some National level institute………….
You will find yourself somewhere in the TOP…..
    People dont like UCE environment….
Do you think….. You will enjoy your engineering degree more than what you enjoyed in UCE…………..NO…Right???

    I am a software developer…………….
I am proud…… NITians are testing my softwares……..
Because people knows the potential of UCE products………

I have the capability to go in my own way…..
    Because I am an UCEian…………………

  12. I just happened to refresh my memories, in the recently concluded Dramatic Fest. The experience was so enthralling; it is very difficult on my part to express.. The same AVC, the same noises in the dark, the same seminar sessions, the same canteen samosaand coffee, the same excitement during any college fest; some things simply dont fade away from ur memories. My stay in UCE is one of them.
Makes me feel so proud today that my college is going to be registered as a Deemed college.

    Kudos to all..!!

  16. Dear Friends
Our sole purpose is to stay connected and do some thing good for society. I found these lines very appealing. `Networking is all about understanding the law of abundance, the law of reciprocity, the law of giving without expectation and cultivating mutually beneficial give – take as well as win – win relationships. The more people you know, the more people can influence to inspire, involve and transform the future of the motherland`.
    Bye Friend

  17. I was very happy when got admission in UCE,Burla. But soon I realised that `All that glitters is not gold`.I had to struggle a bit to adjust to the nonlinear life in UCE.My neural network received plenty of training from people with different nature and predilections.I also sensed the political undercurrent both within teachers and students.Friends were rather complicated or may be I was too straight-forward.Urge to learn vanished within two semesters.I utterly failed to find a teacher with wisdom, heart and having the capability to boost the urge to discover things. All in all,UCE widened my social spectrum but hid the art of learning.
But even the darkest cloud has a silver lining.I was lucky to find a few friends who were kind enough to support me and give me direction. For me,UCE translates into these friends.
We are told to leave the footprints and take the memories with us.But in case of UCE,I would rather do the antithesis.

  30. Nostalgia grips me whenever i thinks about my second mother UCE which gave me my present status whatever it may be. Those golden days of my 4 yrs stay in UCE is never going to come back but sweet & sour memories alike are permanently itched on my mind.I cant forget the mass exodus from hostel fearing mass ragging(a rumour spreadout by our own batchmate), our first panga with a bus operator in 2nd yr, our resuming vehicular movement on NH-6 along with traffic control on 24/25th DEC-88(we are on a picnic toTIKARPADA),our catching hold of a rogue who was troubling our juniors (89-93 batch) imporsonating as final yr student.I also cant forget mass cricket outings on hostel lawn in whole of 3rd yr.where all took part daily out of frustation of a bleak future, toppers included.Lastly an act of nobelity which is expected of each UCEAN which i witnessed while taking a batchmate on his last journey.(SAMBIT our friend had an untimely death in 89).After purchasing ice from a factory near REMED when we r about to give money the owner just arrived & declined to accept it after knowing that the deceased is from his ALMAMATER.

  50. When we were in 3rd year, we invited Geet Sangeet melody group of Cuttack to perform on the annual cultural day. The event started at 9PM and it continued till morning 4O’clock. And the amazing thing is nobody was tired of dancing and everybody was askingfor more songs even if it is a bhajan to dance (though keri keri suna duba was a hit bhajan at that time). At last the music group was tired of performing and they left. Before leaving the announcer of that group said ‘we have never seen such energetic people in our whole career’. And I believe that’s compliment to all UCEans. We never get tired.
